Baldcypress. Also Black, Red, Southern, White, Yellow, and Common Cypress

Color:  Yellowish red, often nearly salmon-colored.
Pattern:  Very distinct leafy grain.
Characteristics:  Annual rings combine soft, open-meshed spring wood, hard, closer-grained summer wood. Moderately strong and light; very durable.
Uses:  Normally for its great durability (against decay); also for architectural interiors and furniture, especially Pecky Cypress for its "textured look."
Availability:  Limited as veneer; readily available as lumber.
